Make Your Own Artful Garden Signs

Join us for a Saturday afternoon of creativity and fun, with your family and friends, at the City Garden Lands! Together, we will decorate rocks and wooden stirrer sticks, as signs for your garden! Take your garden plot to the next level with your own colourful creations. You are welcome to bring your favourite rocks if you have any, but know that art supplies are provided thanks to a Small Neighbourhood Grant by Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives. All materials provided. Participants only need to bring comfortable clothing, hats, sun protection, water, and their own chairs, if needed.

In-person workshops of creativity, community, and fun!  After a brief introduction to Nature Sketching, participatns will be taught a few tips on how to draw plants, flowers and veggies. Then, each participant will create their own nature journal entry about a specific plant or veggie of their own choice, in a paper on a clipboard, and the instructor will assist and help as needed.

All materials provided. Participants only need to bring comfortable clothing, hats, sun protection, water, and their own chairs, if needed.

Instructors:

  • Monica Navarro is a lifelong learner and excited about all things creative. Love drawing, watercolour & rock painting. Love meeting people from diverse backgrounds and learning about their cultures.
  • Bea Martin is a character animator, science illustrator, and nature journal educator, based in Canada. With curiosity and enthusiasm, Bea loves sketching outdoors, and supporting the creativity, curiosity, and artistic development of people of all ages.
