Garden City Lands Community Garden

Learn how to use a 3-bin compost system to enrich your soil and supercharge your garden!

Tomato Sampling and Seed-Saving Workshop

Saturday, September 6 (3-5 p.m.)

Taste the diversity and bounty of tomatoes at a local organic farm, then learn all about saving tomato seeds for next summer’s harvest

  • Thursday, August 7 (4-5 p.m.): Wildflower Seed Harvest at Cook (Tickets – $17). Come harvest seed pods from lupines at Cook Garden. Learn about how to grow your own low-maintenance pollinator haven and take home some high-quality seeds. The event is appropriate for ages 5 and up!
  • Saturday, August 2 (1-3 p.m.): Fermentation Celebration
  • Tuesday, July 8 (5:30-6:30 p.m.) and Saturday, July 12 (10-11am): Volunteer Orientation and Summer Kickoff!
  • Tuesday, July 22 (1:30-3:00 pm): Mindful Composting Workshop (Tickets) and Terra Nova Garden Tour, 3:30-4:30 (RSVP)
  • Friday, June 27 (3-5 p.m): Monthly Tea at Paulik (RSVP)
    • Join Urban Bounty’s tea parties to meet new friends and lend a hand with volunteer tasks, including packaging seeds, working in our forest garden, and gardening at Paulik Park!
  • Saturday, June 28 (7am-12pm): Morning Tea and Garden at Terra Nova, (RSVP)
    • Join us at our Terra Nova Community Garden site to upkeep our newly restored buffer zone by weeding and planting! We’ll start at 7am for the early birds, but feel free to just come at 10am for the second half! Light snacks and tea will be provided at 10am, or bring your own breakfast to enjoy.
  • Thursday, July 3 (10am-12 pm): Kids Dig into Nature! at Terra Nova Community Garden (Tickets – $15 per kid)
    • Join us for a morning of getting our hands dirty! Kids will be digging in the soil and discovering insects that live inside, then explore the garden to create a leaf rubbing collage to take home.
  • Tuesday, July 8 (10am-12pm): Morning Tea and Garden at Terra Nova (RSVP)
    • Join us for a gardening session at Terra Nova Community Garden, starting with a tea circle! After light refreshments and conversation, we will get our hands dirty in the Terra Nova Community Garden.

Saturday, June 14: Tomato Care 101: Pruning and Trellising at SweetDigz Farm, 3-4:30 p.m. (Tickets – $35)

  • Join local farmer Kareno in the second workshop from her “For the Love of Tomatoes” workshop series! This workshop will cover the basics of pruning tomatoes and demonstrate different trellising styles to support your tomatoes during their growth.

Workshop Cancellation Policy

Workshops can only run if there are enough participants. 
If there is low registration for a workshop, Urban Bounty will cancel the workshop no later than 1 week before the workshop date and participants will receive a full refund. We appreciate your support in spreading the word so we can ensure all our workshops run as planned.

Workshop Refund Policy

Unfortunately we do not offer ticket refunds if you are unable to attend a workshop. You are welcome to give your ticket to someone else who can attend the workshop in your place. Otherwise, your ticket fees will go directly to supporting the facilitator and Urban Bounty’s workshop programming. We appreciate your understanding.
